UN Advocacy programme

FORUM-ASIA’s UN Advocacy programme aims to increase the impact and effectiveness of advocacy actions by Asian NGOs and defenders in the use of UN human rights mechanisms, in order to make Asian States more accountable to their human rights obligations.

Programme Objectives

1. To empower Asian NGOs and defenders in conducting UN advocacy work with ownership
2. To enhance constant facilitation and assistance for Asian NGOs in their strategic use of UN human rights mecha-nisms for their national human rights advocacy
3. To increase relevance and effectiveness of UN human rights mechanisms to the ground situations of human rights in Asian countries

The interventions of the UN Advocacy Programme during the Regular Sessions of the UN Human Rights Council in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
