yap_25may09_mo.jpgCondemning
the "ongoing cases of impunity", FORUM-ASIA organised a "Peace Vigil"
on 25 May 2009 in frong of the Sri Lankan embassy in Bangkok, Thailand.
About 30 people participated in the event, in remembrance of the lost
lives during the conflict between the government of Sri Lanka and the
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

As the UN Human Rights Council was to hold Special Session on Sri
Lanka on the next day, the participants to the vigil called on the
council to "adopt a strong resolution at the outset of the special
session on Sri Lanka which includes a commission of inquiry".
