Report on the Workshop of Asean Parliamentarians on the Myanmar Issue, 26-28 November 2004

{mosimage}The Pro-Democracy Myanmar Caucus of the Malaysian Parliament initiated the hosting of a regional closed-door workshop on the Myanmar Issue with intentions to speed up the resolution of conflict between the SPDC and other contending forces. With a view towards promoting greater understanding in order to end the stalemate over Myanmar’s position in ASEAN, the Caucus initiated a new approach involving elected representatives of the people without direct Government intervention.
