asean.jpgSAPA Task Force on ASEAN and Human Rights Gender Focal Point, in collaboration with Women's Caucus on AHRB, will organise the "Regional Women's Human Rights Consultation on the ASEAN Human Rights Body" from 18-19 February 2009 at Windsor Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

The consultation aims to analyse the recent developments in the ASEAN human rights protection mechanism, including the first draft of the Terms of Reference for ASEAN human rights body. The event will also provide an opportunity for the participants to build an advocacy plan of action at national and regional levels.

It will bring together about 40 women human rights activists from local, national and regional organisations, donor and UN agencies.
