United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Regional Office for South-East Asia is organising an Interactive Dialogue on Civil Society Organizations and the Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council on 1 December 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand.

This is a part of the celebration of Human Rights Day 2009. It includes interaction with Asma Jahangir, UN Special Rapporteur and Member of the Coordinating Committee of Special Procedures. The event will provide a forum to discuss the key role of civil society organisations in the work of the Special Procedures, and on regional perspectives for a strengthened engagement with procedures mechanisms and mandates.
