Job Announcement: Short-Term Consultant on Bangladesh and Burma/Myanmar

FORUM-ASIA is looking for an external consultant to help it objectively assess the situation, analyse relevant constraints and opportunities, and draw practical recommendations for FORUM-ASIA to address the situation in Bangladesh and Burma/Myanmar.

The assessment will have following output-related deliverables:

  • An Assessment Framework should be prepared and submitted to FORUM-ASIA explaining methods and instruments of data collection;
  • A Draft Report containing responses to all aspects of the assessment objective as outlined in Section 2 and the scope of work as discussed in Section 3 above; and
  • A Final Report incorporating comments by FORUM-ASIA, no longer than 15 pages, excluding annexes.

The review will take place in March 2017. The actual duration for the review will be 10 working days. One (1) day of which will be for review of documents and design of an assessment framework; six (6) days, including travels, will be for collection of information; two (2) days for data analysis and report drafting; and, one (1) day for finalisation of the report incorporating comments on the draft report.

The consultant will have proven experience of human rights research and advocacy; human rights based approaches to advocacy campaigns and social movements; and, past experience of involvement in similar areas of work.

The budget for the assignment includes a standard consultancy fee for 10 days, and costs for economy-class travel, local transportation, and accommodation.
