Civil society representatives of Asia will gather in Kuala Lumpur for the "Asia preparatory meeting on UN mechanisms relating to indigenous peoples". The participants will develop strategies and activities on how to fully engage and optimise mechanisms under the Human Rights Council, particularly the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms of Indigenous Peoples.
