Kachins around the world recently raised their strong voices against the claim
of Burma's military junta to transform Kachin revolutionary forces into
national border guards. They also urged all Kachin armed groups to join hands
with general public to resist junta's instruction.

In the statement released on 12 May, the Kachins said, "Our struggle is
just and our cause is right, we must not falter but fight courageously for
freedom of our people". One of their demands for Kachin ceasefire groups
was to refrain from participating in junta-sponsored elections in 2010.
