The Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) along with The Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence (KontraS) – Indonesia, Hak Association – Timor-Leste, People’s Empowerment Foundation (PEF) – Thailand, Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM) – Malaysia, ADHOC – Cambodia, Burma Partnership, Think Centre – Singapore, Solidarity for ASEAN Peoples’ Advocacies (SAPA), Asian Federation Against Disappearances (AFAD), Boat People SOS (BPSOS), ASEAN SOGIE Caucus, Focus on the Global South, Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) and Asia Democracy Network (ADN) will organise a workshop on 4 August 2016 at ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ ASEAN Peoples’ Forum 2016, Dili Convention Center (Centru Convensaun Dili/CCD), Dili, Timor-Leste.
The workshop will focus on the shrinking space for civil society movements in the region, and how it affects human rights advocates and pose a threat to human rights defenders (HRDs). It will also discuss the possibility to promote solidarity campaigns and advocacy at regional level for HRDs at risk.

- HRDs working on the rights of Indigenous Peoples, SOGIE rights, Enforced Disappearance, and community development.
