unatsFORUM-ASIA organised the 2nd UN
Advocacy Training Session for Asian Human Rights Defenders (UNATS) from 5 – 11
July 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand. There were 21 participation across Asia.

The programme
was designed to empower the participants to increase their impact and lobby at
the UN human rights council.
It included lectures, discussions and exercises in groups.

The UNATS is a specialised capacity-building programme geared toward Asian human
rights defenders wishing to build on their understanding of UN human rights
protection mechanisms and effective advocacy capacity in national, regional or
international human rights work.
