This publication features reports prepared by human rights activists working in non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that engage their countries’ respective National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs). These reports deal with aspects of the NHRIs’s performance based on the Paris Principles, seen also from a human rights NGO perspective that takes into account the domestic context. Each report addresses the key challenges and issues facing each NHRI in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
