First sub-regional workshop on South Asian human rights mechanism in Nepal

FORUM-ASIA is organising the First Sub Regional Workshop on South
Asian Human Rights Mechanism in Kathmandu, Nepal on 24-25th March 2010.
The workshop will consist of sessions, group discussion, and a plenary
session where participants will discuss prospects and strategies for a
regional human rights mechanism in South Asia.

FORUM-ASIA is organising the First Sub Regional Workshop on South
Asian Human Rights Mechanism in Kathmandu, Nepal on 24-25th March 2010.
The workshop will consist of sessions, group discussion, and a plenary
session where participants will discuss prospects and strategies for a
regional human rights mechanism in South Asia.

Around 40 key activists and representatives of civil society from
the sub-region of South Asia will be participating in this workshop. The
workshop is also expected to provide an opportunity to the participants
to be updated about best practices of other regional human rights
mechanisms and the development of the newly established ASEAN
Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights.

The Workshop will also provide inputs on the meeting of the SAPA
General Forum which is scheduled to be held back to back with regional
workshop on 26-27th March 2010 in Kathmandu.
