FORUM-ASIA will organise a workshop
entitled "Southeast Asian Regional Workshop on Children's Participation
in ASEAN" in collaboration
with the Solidarity for Asian Peoples Advocacies Task Force on ASEAN
and Human Rights – Child Rights Focal Point. This workshop will be held from 22 to 24 February 2010
in Bangkok, Thailand.

Upon ASEAN's establishment of the commission on rights of women and
children this year, FORUM-ASIA and other civil society organisations
will build strategies to ensure respect and protection of one of the
core child rights principles: participation. The participants will also
discuss how to ensure children's participation
in ASEAN and define the possible
roles and contributions of adult child rights advocates in supporting it.
