Since the military seized power on 1 February 2021, millions of people from all walks of life are demanding the military hand back power to civilian control and are held fully accountable, and are calling for the release of all those detained, including Aung San Suu Kyi.
As large-scale demonstrations across Myanmar continue in its biggest show of mass anger in years, protesters are being met with deadly force.
The military junta is responding to demonstrations with brutality and a countrywide systematic crackdown which includes shooting peaceful protesters and enforced disappearances. Every day, the death toll of civilians continue to rise.
