Free and open to the public
The event will be live-streamed on FORUM-ASIA’s Facebook page
On the 29 July, Cambodia went to the polls in an election without the forcibly dissolved main opposition Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP), under laws re-written to favor the ruling party, presided over a biased national election commission, and without the scrutiny of independent media which the government smashed.

The result?

A widely lopsided victory of Cambodia’s dictator, PM Hun Sen, and the death of Cambodian democracy and respect for human rights long ago promised by the Paris Peace Accords. How did it come to this, what happened on election day, and what’s next? Come hear impressions and perspectives from groups freshly returned from the electoral front line in Cambodia.

Come hear our group of panelists:

John Cavanaugh, Cambodia Country Director, National Democratic Institute (NDI);

Sejin Kim, Program Manager, FORUM-ASIA;

Chandanie Watawala, Executive Director, Asian Network for Free Elections (ANREL);

Phil Robertson, Deputy Asia Director, Human Rights Watch (HRW); and

Kingsley Abbott, Senior Legal Advisor, International Commission of Jurists (ICJ)
