ANNI’s first regional consultation and workshop

Asian NGOs Network on National Human Rights Institution (ANNI) will hold its first Regional Consultation and workshop from 23 to 24 February 2008. About 30 people are expected to attend the meeting, organised by FORUM-ASIA.

Asian NGOs Network on National Human Rights Institution (ANNI) will hold its first Regional Consultation and workshop from 23 to 24 February 2008. About 30 people are expected to attend the meeting, organised by FORUM-ASIA.

The participants are leaders of 19 human rights organisations engaged with national human rights institutions in Asia.

The meeting aims to evaluate and assess the 2007 ANNI Report on the Performance of National Human Rights Institutions in Asia, to set strategies and plans for the 2008 ANNI Report, and to set strategies and plans for the 13th Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in September 2008.

ANNI is a network of 19 human rights organisations engaged with national human rights institutions in Asia. It aims to ensure the accountability of these bodies for the promotion and protection of human rights. FORUM-ASIA is its convener.
