On 2-3 April 2016, in Bangkok, Thailand, the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA), the South East Asian Committee for Advocacy (SEACA), and the Asia Democracy Network (ADN) as the East Asia Hub’s incubators, will co-organise the Civil Society İnnovation Initiative (CSİI) – East Asia Consultation Meeting.
The meeting, which is a follow-up to the two previous meetings in Bali and New York last year, aims to operationalise the CSİI ideas in terms of concrete innovative actions on the ground in the East Asian context. It will bring together civil society networks in South East Asia and North East Asia that are working on different social, economic, environmental, political issues to discuss new approaches and collective solutions towards protecting civil society in the East Asia region.
All regional hubs, including the East Asia hub, will be presenting their proposals during International Civil Society Week (ICSW) in Bogota, Colombia on 24-29 April 2016.
CSİI is a joint project of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and the Aga Khan Foundation, with CIVICUS World Alliance for Citizen Participation and Counterpart International as the implementing partners.
