The Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) today joins the international community in commemorating the 2009 Ampatuan massacre in the Philippines that took the lives of 32 journalists along with 26 civilians.
We join forces with all groups demanding for accountability for this crime committed against humanity. We also join in solidarity with the victims’ families and communities in their courageous search for justice and peace in their homeland. We call on the Philippine government to more decisively address serious human rights violations in the country and to put an end to impunity.
FORUM-ASIA demands accountability for the activists, journalists, lawyers and any other category who have been targeted for exercising their right to freedom of expression around the world. #ENDIMPUNITY
